Looking Forward to Letting Go
Your name,
I once dwelt upon
At least umpteenth times a day
Often accompanied by chest pain,
Remorse over freely feeding
Lies to all the rest
Sometimes with disdain,
Especially when related
Tales of breathless excess:
Warm things peppered
With fond memories
Of thoroughly crude jokes
And divine drinks at dinner
And missing an element
Your name,
I was eventually reminded
Is distributed to thousands
Infinitely translucent;
Reliable to sour a response
And clear a dogged mind
Your name, and the enigma
Affiliated with it,
At the end, when I've accepted,
It's all I'll need
